- Used #84 in 1999, changed to match their BGN car to #96
- Island Oasis out? UPDATE: hearing that Island Oasis is no longer the primary sponsor of the #96 Perry-Huggins Chevy BGN/CUP teams. The BGN team and driver Gus Wasson withdrew from Texas, no word on the part time Greg Sacks Cup ride with the team. Supposedly team employees were told earlier in the week to seek other employment
UPDATE: Osland Oasis has left the team as the primary sponosr but will stay on as an associate, but it's not enough and the team will skip the next few BGN events until a few associate or a new primary sponsors can be found. Gus Wasson is still the driver. No word on the Cup operation(Winston Cup Scene Magazine)(3-31-2000)
- Sacks at Daytona UPDATE: former Winston Cup driver(and winner) Greg Sacks returns to Daytona next month for the NAPA 300 BGN race. He will be driving a second Chevy fielded by Petty-Huggins Motorsports. Petty-Huggins Motorsports also fields the Island Oasis Chevrolet of rookie driver Gus Wasson on the BGN. The #96 and Wasson plan to run the full season and the team hopes to make a few Cup starts in 2000. The team made a few Cup attempts in 1999 in the #84 Chevy. Putting everything he owned on the line, Beau Petty spent 1996 assembling a NASCAR Busch Grand National team and made a few Busch runs in 1997. Intent on making his dream a success, he spent 1998 searching for a viable sponsor. In partnership with Heritage Consumer Products, Petty's team ran a Winston Cup car at qualifying for the 1999 Daytona 500. With driver Stanton Barrett, the team missed qualifying by less than a tenth of a second in the 125-mile qualifying race, even with a car that had been damaged and repaired after practice earlier in the week. Desiring to run a full schedule in a NASCAR-sanctioned series, Petty acquired business partner, Wayne Huggins, and secured a new primary sponsor - Island Oasis for the NASCAR Busch Grand National program. With the inclusion of Island Oasis, Petty constructed a first-rate Busch Grand National team. Pursuing a new, fresh face to drive the #96 Island Oasis Chevy, he recognized the talents of USAC 1996 Rookie of the Year Wasson. The newly-assembled team made five BGN runs in 1999, including the season-closer at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, where they ran strong and ran all day(Williams Co)(1-6-2000) -- UPDATE: Sacks is testing the #96 Chevy at Chevy, Monday and Tuesday(Jan 10-11th)(1-11-2000)
- Wasson full time in 2000: Gus Wasson will drive the Island Oasis Chevy for Petty-Huggins Motorsports at Homestead, Fla., next week and will also compete for NASCAR Busch Grand National Rookie of the Year in 2000. The 25-year-old native of Bloomdale, Ohio, will start his fifth career BGN event at Homestead, and his seventh high-speed event. Wasson has notched fifth-place finishes at Texas Motor Speedway and Charlotte in ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde events, and has been a top-20 finisher twice in NASCAR Busch Grand National events at Atlanta. Wasson started more than 600 times in major races, his most recent honor being 1996 USAC National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year. He is a native of
Bloomdale, Ohio. Wasson said another trip to a new track - this time the fast 1.5-mile Homestead, Fla., oval - is nothing new in his career. Island Oasis, which manufactures all-natural frozen beverage mixes and is most well-known for its smoothees, is based in Walpole, Mass., just outside of Boston. The company also creates non- alcoholic cocktails and specialty drinks in 13 all-natural, all-delicious flavors. It's relationship with Petty-Huggins Motorsports and Wasson marks its first foray into NASCAR racing. Petty-Huggins Motorsports plans on a full NASCAR BGN schedule next season, as well as running in selected NASCAR Winston Cup races with Wasson. The team is led by crew chief Greg Guarry(Williams Co)(11-9-1999)

I hear Stanton Barrett and his sponsor, Heritage Consumer Products will continue after Vegas for an undetermined time in the #90 Junie Donlavey Ford(2-27-1999)
- More Barrett: ROTY candidate Stanton Barrett entered the season planning to run only 16 races but may hook up with another team and make the full schedule. - Barrett Sponsor: Stanton Barrett will run a schedule of approximately 16 NASCAR Winston Cup races beginning with the Feb. 14 Daytona 500. The announcement of Barrett as the driver and Heritage Consumer Products Company as the sponsor for Petty-Barrett-Huggins Racing was made this week. The team, owned by Barrett, Beau Petty and Wayne Huggins, has secured season-long primary sponsorship from Heritage Consumer Products Company, which delivers high quality healthcare products to consumers which fulfill specific needs. Heritage Consumer Products markets and distributes such well-known products as Acutrim, Allerest, Sinarest, Fiberall, Eucalyptamint, Privine, Ting, Konodremul, Calesene and Americaino. The schedule for the #84 Heritage Consumer Products Chevrolet gets heavier and heavier as the season progresses, giving the brand new team a chance to gel and to be in a strong position for a full-season run in 2000. After Daytona, the team plans to run next at Texas Motor Speedway, followed by the event at California Speedway(The Williams Co)(1-27-1999)
- Barrett Sponsor? Hearing Heritage Consumer Products will sponsor Stanton Barrett in the #84 Cup Chevy. Barrett is scheduled to run 15 races. (NASCAR Online) Jayski Note: Actually they won't run Sears Point in the CTS this year, Portland becomes a road course race in 1999.(1-5-1999)
