- Waltrip fails to make the Coke 600...buying Cope ride to run race: #55-Michael Waltrip’s string of 261 consecutive Cup appeared to come to a halt Thursday night, when he failed to qualify for the Coca-Cola 600, turning in a dreadfully slow qualifying lap more than 8 mph off the pole speed. He last failed to qualify for a Cup race in Oct. 1998 at Phoenix. But he apparently will purchase a starting spot from #74-Derrike Cope, with details expected to be announced later.(Speed Channel)
AND Michael Waltrip's consecutive start streak of 261 races will get to 262. Waltrip's Waltrip-Jasper Racing has bought the ride of the #74 McGlynn Racing Dodge and driver Derrike Cope for the Coca-Cola 600, according to a Waltrip team spokesman. The car will have the NAPA logo on the car and might carry the #55. The owner points goes to McGlynn and not to Waltrip, whose team sits 36th in owner points and likely will drop following the race. Waltrip likely will put a new engine in the car but must use the car Cope qualified in the event. Waltrip ranks sixth in consecutive starts among NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers [see list on my stats page].(SceneDaily.com)(5-26-2006)
UPDATE: Officials with Michael Waltrip Racing confirmed Friday that Waltrip has purchased the #74 Dodge of McGlynn Racing/Derrike Cope, who had taken the final spot in the 43-car field during Thursday night's qualifying for the longest race in the Nextel Cup Series. - #74 Penalty Upheld: On May 2, 2006, the National Stock Car Racing Commission [Terry Eames, Humpy Wheeler, George Silbermann, Chairman] heard and considered the Appeal of McGlynn Motorsports. The appeal concerned three penalties issued by NASCAR following inspection on April 7, 2006 for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event at Texas Motor Speedway. The infractions concerned Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR Rule Book “Actions detrimental to stock car racing”; Section 12-4-Q “Any determination by NASCAR Officials that the car, car parts, components, and/or equipment used in the Event do not conform to NASCAR rules; and Section 20-5.9G(1) “External modifications to the intake manifold will not be permitted unless approved by the Series Director.” The penalties assessed were:
• Loss of 25 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Championship Car Owner Points for owner Raynard McGlynn.
• Loss of 25 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Championship Driver Points for driver Derrike Cope.
• $50,000.00 fine for crew chief Domenick Turse.
The Appellants acknowledged that the intake modifications violated the rules, but appealed the severity of the penalties. The Commission found that the penalties assessed are consistent with penalties for similar infractions of an overt nature in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Therefore it is the unanimous decision of the National Stock Car Racing Commission to uphold the original penalties assessed by NASCAR. The Appellants have the right under Section 15 of the Rule Book to appeal this decision to the National Stock Car Racing Commissioner.(NASCAR)(5-3-2006)
- #74 appeals NASCAR fine and penalties UPDATE: #74-McGlynn Racing announced today that the have formally requested a hearing with the National Stock Car Racing Commission for the [25 point] penalties issued to owner, Raynard McGlynn, driver Derrike Cope as well as the $50,000 fine issued to crew chief, Domenic Turse.(McGlynn Racing PR)(4-23-2006)
UPDATE: Derrike Cope says McGlynn Motorsports' appeal of a $50,000 fine and 25 points for an illegal intake manifold at Texas is scheduled for next Tuesday. Cope, the driver of the team's #74 Dodge in the Nextel Cup Series, said the team was using a new intake manifold, and when a NASCAR official saw them putting it on the car, they were told it was probably illegal. The car never actually went through inspection with the illegal manifold. "We're going to go through the appeal ... and see if there is some type of situation that could reduce the fine," Cope said. The team sat out the Phoenix race and will sit out the Talladega race with hopes of returning at Richmond.(SceneDaily.com)(4-28-2006)
- #74 withdraws from Phoenix and skip Talladega: McGlynn Racing announced that Derrike Cope and the #74 Dodge will withdraw from this weekend's Subway Fresh 500 at Phoenix International Speedway. The team will also skip the Aaron's 499 at Talladega. During this period, Derrike and the team will be conducting testing for upcoming race events that are important to team sponsors. Having 35 spots guaranteed to the larger teams presents a significant challenge to the smaller, less funded teams. Since the team is not in a position to challenge for the top 35 points position at this time the team feels the best course of action is to skip select races to concentrate more effort on those they do enter. McGlynn Racing and Derrike continue to receive great support from of each of our current sponsors and are always searching for additional sponsors to improve upon equipment and hire personnel to make us even better," said Ryan McGlynn, General Manager for the team. For more information on McGlynn Racing, visit www.McGlynnRacing.com.(McGlynn Racing PR)
AND hearing that McGlynn Racing/Cope are conducting a private test session with a European driver and sponsor next week at an undisclosed location. The purpose of the test is to audition the driver for a possible second McGlynn car later this season. If the driver is hired by McGlynn Racing, Cope will mentor the driver as he learns the ropes in ARCA and the Busch Series then onto Cup competition late in 2006 and full time Cup Series in 2007. Cope will remain the primary driver of the #74 car. The visiting driver and representatives of the major sponsor will be visiting the team to finalize the proposed partnership. An announcement is expected soon after the testing is complete.(4-19-2006)
- Rule Violations Result in Penalties for #74 team: NASCAR announced today that one fine and two penalties have been issued to the #74 Dodge team competing in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, as a result of rule violations last week at Texas Motor Speedway. Due to violations of Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment that do not conform to NASCAR rules) and 20-5.9G(1) (external modifications to the intake manifold deemed impermissible unless authorized by the Series Director) of the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Rule Book, crew chief Domenick Turse was fined $50,000; driver Derrike Cope was penalized with the loss of 25 driver championship points; and car owner Ray McGlynn was penalized 25 owner championship points. The infraction was discovered during opening day inspection.(NASCAR PR)(4-11-2006)
- Manifold Problem with the #74: Sitting side by side, for anyone in the garage interested in looking, an intake manifold submitted by Dodge and approved by NASCAR and an illegal manifold taken from the #74 MyGuardian911.com Dodge of McGlynn Racing and driven by Derrike Cope [who will make his 400th career start at Texas on Sunday]. Raynard McGlynn of Wilkes Barrie, PA owns McGlynn Racing. John Darby, NEXTEL Cup Series Director of Competition, jokingly commented the infraction, exterior illegal modifications, was "too cool" to warrant a penalty. On the serious side, Darby commented it wasn't "Tuesday" the day NASCAR typically issues penalties for infractions from the previous weekend. Specifically, the illegal manifold violated rule 20-5.9G, which states external modifications are not permitted unless specifically approved by the Series Director. Darby did clearly not approve the modifications to the confiscated manifold. Tom Durse, crew chief on the #74, hopes NASCAR is lenient with what he describes as a "young team," despite his admittance, "Once we bolt a part onto the car and present it to NASCAR we own it and we're responsible for it." Should a penalty be issued Durse is also hoping NASCAR concentrates on points versus money. "Right now the points are not nearly as important to us as the money. We're a struggling operation that has is running the full season for the first time after two years of running a limited schedule."(CircleTrackPlus), with the #74 probably being a post-entry [not entered before the deadline] and not getting any points, it may end up being a money fine and taking away some of the team's existing points.(4-9-2006)
- Cope plans to attempt Texas: Derrike Cope and the #74 Dodge are heading to Texas. Cope told derrikecope.com: "It looks as if we will have the My Guardian/Sundance Vacations/YRA Dodge at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend! I am looking forward to this opportunity after last weekend. I really enjoy The Texas race track. It is very fast and always produces a great race. I have had some very good runs there as of late, both in the Busch Series as well as the Cup series." The team is not listed on mine or nascar.com's entry list as of yet.(4-5-2006)
- Cope to attempt Bristol; gets sponsorship: even thou not on any entry lists as of 1am/et on 3/24/2006, derrikecope.com reports: Derrike gave us an update before qualifying. "We will be attempting to qualify at Bristol this weekend. The team has really worked hard to finish a car that was purchased from Penske racing. It is a more updated car from last year. So we are hopeful that we can have a good performance tomorrow in qualifying. I have had good success at Bristol and am really looking forward to tomorrow."(Derrike Cope site)
AND Sundance Vacations reached a full season agreement with McGlynn Racing to sponsor the Derrike Cope driven NASCAR Nextel Cup Dodge for the remaining races of the 2006 race season. The Sundance Vacations’ marketing campaign is centered on the company’s Ultimate Sports Giveaway. The winner of the sweepstakes will receive 6 tickets to the sports event of their choice including the Daytona 500. Sundance Vacations joins My Guardian 911 and Royal Administration on the #74 Dodge. Although, My Guardian 911 is the primary sponsor for most races, the national wholesale travel company will take the primary sponsor position for the Neighborhood Excellence 400 presented by Bank of America at Dover International Speedway, the Pocono 500 at Pocono International Speedway and the USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.(McGlynn Racing PR)(3-24-2006)
- Cope & #74 McGlynn Racing to run at Atlanta & Bristol: McGlynn Racing announced Thursday that Derrike Cope and the #74 Dodge will compete in the Golden Corral 500 this weekend in Atlanta as well as the Food City 500 at Bristol the following week. The team(McGlynn Racing PR)(3-16-2006)
had a serious mechanical problem with its hauler while enroute to Las Vegas for the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 and was unable to compete for a starting spot. "We are still growing as a team and anyone that hopes to make it at this level is going to experience setbacks along the way. We have a great group of sponsors behind us and we want to ensure we represent them well on the track and we intend to do just that, " said Ray McGlynn, owner of McGlynn Racing. "With the backing of our current sponsors and others in the works, we look forward to each and every race. Our thanks go out to My Guardian 911, Sundance Vacations, Royal Administration and all our team sponsors and our fans for standing behind us.
- #74 Withdraws: Derrike Cope was planning on driving the #74 McGlynn Racing Dodge an Las Vegas until some unfortunate news came his way. On Thursday, Cope updated derrikecope.com with: "My update for Las Vegas is a disappointing one. I am here in Las Vegas, but I just got word that the Transporter has broken down and will not make it here for this weekend. It is unfortunate for all of us, but they got out of town late and with this happening it is impossible for them to get here in time. I just spoke to Ray McGlynn [owner] and the sponsor and they said that we will just have to rebound and get ready to go to Atlanta next week. I will give you an update next week prior to leaving for Atlanta."(derrikecope.com)(3-10-2006)
- #74 McGlynn Racing gets sponsor for some races: #74 McGlynn Racing announced today that Sundance Vacations will co-sponsor the Derrike Cope driven Nextel Cup Dodge for the Daytona 500 on February 19th. Sundance Vacations is a wholesale travel company headquartered in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania that operates offices nationwide. Sundance Vacations is negotiating with the team and former Daytona 500 winner Derrike Cope to outline the details for a full season sponsorship. When the agreement is finalized, Sundance will join My Guardian 911 as co-sponsor for the season. Further details will be released when available. (McGlynn Racing PR)(2-15-2006)
- McGlynn Racing to #74: looks like McGlynn Racing has changed their car number from #00 [#200 owners] to #74, with Derrike Cope driving. The Daytona 500 Entry list shows the new car number and a sponsor, MyGuardian911 and the manu being Dodge not Chevy.(2-10-2006)
- McGlynn Racing & Cope partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: McGlynn Racing and former Daytona 500 winner Derrike Cope have partnered, for the 2006 NEXTEL Cup season, with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer. The partnership includes a commitment from McGlynn Racing to raise national awareness and funds for St. Jude - the world's premier pediatric cancer research center - through its driver, team and sponsors. As a component of the partnership, McGlynn Racing will display a St. Jude logo on its cars [currently #00] throughout the season. Cope, a veteran of more than 400 NASCAR races and the team's primary driver, will also make visits to St. Jude during the NASCAR race season to interact with the patients. "I am very pleased to have St. Jude involved with our organization," says Cope. "They have a dynamic facility that touches so many children and their families. St. Jude is a leader in providing the most sophisticated care for their patients and we as a race team look forward to assisting them throughout the year." - McGlynn Racing to announce sponsor; car # change: There are lots of rumors flying around about the #00 team and Ryan McGlynn was reached today to comment on some of them:
* The new sponsor is solid. “It’s a done deal” Ryan was quoted as saying. “We do not want to release any of the details until the sponsor has everything in place. They are waiting for the right timing to coincide with the best effectiveness for speed weeks.”
* The team is listed as number 200 right now but that may change. The new sponsor would like to have a number that is firm for every race, not one that needs to be changed if a similar number shows up (as happened last season.)
* The race shop’s move to Charlotte was delayed because the real estate transaction fell through. “It was pulled out from under us by the seller” said Ryan. He plans to take his time and find the perfect property over the next season, and the move to Charlotte is still definitely planned.
* Derrike Cope will be driving a McGlynn Cup Car at Daytona! No ifs, ands or buts, Derrike is driving the car and attempting to qualify for the Daytona 500. The car make and number will be released later.(McGlynn Racing site), however the team didn't test at Daytona.(1-18-2006)
- Cope to run full season in 2006 for McGlynn Racing: McGlynn Racing and Derrike Cope to run full NEXTEL Cup schedule in 2006. McGlynn Racing and Derrike Cope have announced they will run a full NEXTEL Cup schedule in 2006. Former Daytona 500 winner, a veteran of over 400 Cup [actually has 399] series starts, will run the #00 for the team. New sponsorship for the team is nearing completion and will be announced in the coming weeks.(McGlynn Racing PR)(11-30-2005)
- Derrike Cope takes over the #00 for McGlynn Racing: McGlynn Racing has signed former Daytona 500 winner, Derrike Cope, as primary driver for the 2006 season. The driver change will take place beginning with this week's race in Phoenix. Cope will remain behind the wheel for the final race at Homestead as well. McGlynn Racing has reluctantly parted ways with veteran driver Carl Long. The move was a business decision and was deemed necessary for the team to continue growing. Long has been with the team for over a year and is a big reason for the team's success in breaking into the very competitive NEXTEL Cup Series. Derrike Cope will run a full schedule in 2006 for McGlynn Racing. Sponsorship for the #00 team will be announced soon.(McGlynn MotorSports PR)(11-11-2005)
- Long/McGlynn Part Ways, Long looking for a ride: It was announced Monday that Carl Long and #00-McGlynn Racing have parted ways, effective immediately. The part was on good terms, and was done for the better of both parties involved. Carl Long would
like to thank McGlynn Racing for allowing him to drive for their team throughout the 2005 season. "The McGlynn's were like a second family to me," Long stated. "I know Ray [McGlynn] had to do what was in the best interest for him and his team, and I can respect that he had to make changes to fit; we're still good buds." Due to the last-minute nature of this departure, Carl Long is looking for a NEXTEL Cup team to drive for at Phoenix this weekend. With just two races remaining on the schedule, Long hopes to keep himself in the top 50 of the 2005 NEXTEL Cup Series driver points. This would allow Carl Long to compete in the 2006 NEXTEL Open. Long made the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Phoenix race held in the Spring of this year. Teams interested in having Carl Long drive for them this weekend are asked to call Carl directly or e-mail his website manager. For the season finale race held at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20th, Carl Long will be piloting the #80 Dodge for Stan Hover, owner of Hover Motorsports.(Carl Long site)(11-8-2005)
- Cope in the #00: Derrike Cope will be driving for McGlynn Motorsports once again, this time driving the #00 Dodge in Phoenix this weekend and again the following week at Homestead. The sponsor will be Buyers Choice/Royal Administration with Joey Arrington engines.(Derrike Cope site)(11-8-2005)
- Long to drive Dream Machine at Texas: Carl Long will be driving the #00 RoadLoans.com / Aarons Dream Machine for
McGlynn Racing this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Fresh off his career-best qualifying effort in Atlanta, Long looks to top that performance this weekend in Texas. McGlynn Racing welcomes RoadLoans.com to the team and look forward to a long-lasting relationship with Chris Goodman (Sr. VP, RoadLoans.com) and his team now and in the future. Driver Carl Long on driving the Aarons Dream Machine: "DW (Darrel Waltrip) has been wanting to drive the Dream Machine for a long time and since he owes me a favor for loaning my car to him a few years back, Michael (Waltrip) is letting me beat his brother to the punch and drive the Aarons Dream Machine this weekend. Maybe DW can bring the Dream Machine Jr. down to my place and cut my grass sometime."
Team Owner Ray McGlynn on new sponsors: "I want to thank our primary sponsor, Royal Administration, for allowing us the flexibility to move them all over the car and occasionally off the car to bring on new sponsors. The team is more consistent than ever and sponsors are beginning to realize they can join a small team like us while we are still growing and capitalize on NASCAR's enormous popularity at a level they can handle." This weekend's race also marks the arrival of the team's newest charitable organization, the Young Racers of America (YRA). As spokesman for the YRA, Carl Long wants to create further awareness for young racers and build a support system for youth drivers everywhere.(McGlynn Racing PR)(11-3-2005)
- Long named YRA spokesman: Young Racers of America, Inc., a non-profit organization, assists young racers in continuing their goal to compete in the ever-growing racing industry. McGlynn Racing shares this same passion! Therefore, Carl Long has agreed to be the spokesman for the YRA in order to create further awareness for young racers and to build a support system for youth drivers.
The Young Racers of America will make its debut on the #00 car at the Dickies 500 on November 6, 2005 at Texas Motor Speedway. YRA will also appear on the car as an associate sponsor during the 2006 season and will be featured on the McGlynnRacing.com web site. "We are very excited that the McGlynn Racing team has stepped forward and recognized the need our foundation serves. Every child should be given an opportunity to participate in something that they are extremely passionate about and with the added assistance of Carl Long, Ryan McGlynn and McGlynn Racing, they will be able to do so", states Gayle Lutyk, President and co-founder of YRA. More information about Young Racers of America, Inc. call 817.282.4YRA or visit: youngracersofamerica.org.(10-205-2005)

Derrike has been tabbed as driver for McGlynn Racing for this event as well as selected NASCAR Nextel Cup endeavors for the remainder of this season. McGlynn Racing is a young, up and coming Pennsylvania-based team that knows Derrike Cope can help move the organization to the next level.(McGlynn MotorSports)(10-20-2005)
- Long gets sponsor for Kansas: The Polly Klaas Foundation, a national nonprofit that helps find missing children and prevent them from going missing in the first place, announced today its featured spot as a complimentary sponsor of McGlynn Racing, a Pennsylvania team participating in NASCAR's Nextel Cup Series. McGlynn Racing, which has donated sponsorship space on the hood of its car to help raise awareness of the foundation and its mission, is racing this weekend at Kansas Speedway for the Banquet 400.
"Our work to protect children and find those that are missing is strengthened when the public knows about our services and educational resources," said Anita Galins, executive director of the Polly Klaas Foundation. "McGlynn Racing's generous donation of their valuable ad space provides a unique and powerful venue for us to reach many more people-in Kansas and nationwide. We are sincerely grateful and touched by their commitment to helping us protect kids, and we heartily root them on this weekend at the Banquet 400."
The Polly Klaas Foundation name, logo, Web site [www.pollyklaas.org] and toll-free hotline made its debut on the hood of the #00 Chevrolet driven by Carl Long at the Food City 500 in Bristol, Tennessee, on April 3. McGlynn Racing has added the Polly Klaas Foundation name to the side quarter panels, in addition to the hood, for this weekend's race to increase awareness of the mission.(McGlynn Racing)(10-7-2005)

- PEO Pros extends sponsorship to MIS on the #34 UPDATE: PEO Pros and Mach 1 Racing extended their one race deal to sponsor PJ Jones in the #34 Monte Carlo for the Cup race at Michigan International Speedway this coming weekend. Chris Edwards, owner of Mach 1 Racing, commented, “PEO Pros has been really helpful. I spoke with the owner today and he is already working on another potential sponsor for us from his field. Look for another sponsor on the car soon, maybe as soon as Bristol.” PEO Pros CEO John Tenney said, "We wish to share the great experience we’ve had sponsoring Mach 1 and PJ with our PEO partners. Our website traffic has not only increased, we are also getting some serious business inquiries.” There have been many inquiries from other drivers and teams looking for sponsors. Tenney is rather disappointed with this strategy. “As for you drivers looking for sponsors, let me give you a tip. Calling someone who just made a deal is not a good way to make friends in the industry. The sponsor has already allocated their marketing money and the current driver is not too happy with you. If you really want to find a sponsor, look at the recent sponsor’s field of business, get a picture of the car with the logo and go to their competition and say ‘Look what your competitor is doing.’ That will not only have a better chance of success, it’s better for NASCAR because you will bring new sponsors in, rather than trying to steal existing sponsors. PJ Jones is our primary driver. PJ is the person who brought me in to NASCAR 10 years ago. There is loyalty there.”
Although several of the requests have come from other drivers looking for sponsors, they are also getting many inquiries as to What Is PEO Pros and What Do They Do.(PR)(8-15-2005)

- McClynn Racing beefing up stable, sponsors on the way: Raynard McGlynn, owner of the #00 Chevy [sometimes Dodge] ran by Carl Long, was in high spirits Friday afternoon, and obviously much happier than six weeks ago at Pocono Raceway. “We think we can get in no problem,” McGlynn said on the eve of today’s qualifying for tomorrow’s NASCAR Nextel Cup Pennsylvania 500. Back in June, hopes for the Hanover Township team [PA] were dashed when driver Carl Long wrecked in practice for the Pocono 500. The team went back to the shop on the Sans Souci Highway to prepare a backup car, but that plan went awry and the team was forced to withdraw before qualifying. “It was a Dodge and the oil pan wouldn’t work in the car,” McGlynn said. “It was either cut the chassis and ruin a car to get back or say enough is enough.”
Much has changed in six weeks. McGlynn Motorsports has increased its stable of cars to nine with the purchase of four Dodges from Roger Penske and a Chevrolet from Bill Davis, both longtime NASCAR owners. The team also built a Dodge and is having a Chevrolet assembled. Plus, sponsorship deals are coming together. Champion Builders and Sundance Vacations are aboard this weekend. “We have a major deal kicking,” McGlynn said. “As a matter of fact, I have to fly to Atlanta next week. We have some meetings with Carloans.com. It’s a deal; I just have to finish up on it a little bit.” Should Long qualify for the Pennsylvania 500, it will be the first time this season the team has made three consecutive races. Thus far, the team has made six of the 12 races it attended. He was 42nd fastest among 47 drivers in the second practice Friday. Long just needs to be faster today than four of the other 11 drivers who need to make tomorrow’s race based on their qualifying speed. The good news is that five of those drivers were slower in the final practice. If Long accomplishes that, McGlynn said the team will continue to grow. “It’s a business, but there’s a lot of luck involved,” McGlynn said. “All you have to do is get tied up with the right people, then the right people will bring more sponsorship. That’s what is happening. It’s starting to snowball now.”(Times Leader), see images of the #00 on my #00 Team Schemes page.(7-23-2005)

- So what happened to Long in practice? for the Chevy American Revolution 400 at Richmond International Raceway. Carl Long crashed his primary #00 Buyer's Choice Auto Warranty Chevrolet during afternoon practice.
WHAT HAPPENED? During a qualifying run, my car's been extremely tight in the center of the corner. It was a little bit free entering Turn 1 each time and unfortunately for me with different run we had a different set of shocks on it. And those shocks wouldn't let the car recover-it kind of held it down real stiff. And when it got loose on me getting into Turn 1, where I've been recovering all practice, I reckon I gave out of talent.
IT APPEARS YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR MOTOR IN THE SPARE CHASSIS - DID YOU LIKE THAT MOTOR? Yeah, that's the only engine that we have, so..(GM PR), so it looks like Long will make an attempt to make the race.(5-13-2005)
- Long to make season debut at Las Vegas: Carl Long will be piloting the #00 Buyer's Choice/Howes/Champion Builders Chevrolet next weekend [3-13-2005] at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the running of the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race. In last year's event, Carl Long started the fan-supported #02 Pontiac in 41st position and finished 38th due to an oil pump issue that dropped him out of the race after completing 145 of 267 laps.(Carl Long site)(3-1-2005)

While Ryan McGlynn, son of team owner Raynard McGlynn, will run selected short track races on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup circuit. A two-car team for some events is possible. The team will utilize Chevrolet Monte Carlos and Dodge Chargers under the numbers #00 and #46. Both McGlynn Racing and Carl Long Racing are in search for primary sponsorship. There are no plans to run the season opening race at Daytona.
