- Brandon Ash Racing Develops Plan for Growth: Brandon Ash Racing, owned by the father-son combination of Ed and Brandon Ash and Ken Wood, have outlined a plan to bring their #02 Brandon Ash Racing Dodge Sprint Cup operation east after partnering with potential sponsors to help grow the team at their current home base in Winston, Oregon. “We’ve thought hard about our next step for Brandon’s career and what’s best for this race team,” said team owner Ed Ash. “We feel that eventually moving east, to the heart of the racing business, is the best answer for us, but we want to do it the right way. We want to find partners to grow with us here, and eventually make the move when the time is right. Finding that partner is our primary goal now.” Brandon Ash Racing has immediate plans to race in Sprint Cup events in the western half of the country this season with Brandon Ash behind the wheel of their trademark #02 flamed Dodge. The team is prepared to enter its first event at the Phoenix International Raceway in April. Ash, 30, started his professional career racing in the Camping World West Series in 1998 at the young age of 21. Ash recorded over 20 top-10 and over a dozen top-five finishes including a win at the Kansas Speedway while in the series. Ash made the leap to the Sprint Cup Series in 2004. Brandon Ash Racing is currently speaking with potential partners for the 2008 season and beyond. More information can be found at www.02brandonash.com.(Breaking Limits Marketing PR), Ash has ran four Cup races in the past few seasons.(1-14-2008)
- Ash to attempt Phoenix with a new look: #02-Brandon Ash will attempt to make the Checkers Auto Parts 500(k) at Phoenix International Raceway. PIR was the team's first start of the 2006 season and the Checker Auto Parts 500 will mark the last start this year. In April at the Subway Fresh 500, Ash qualified in the 40th spot to finish in 43rd after transmission problems [also ran at Infineon Raceway and finished 38th]. The #02 Sprinter Trucking Dodge Intrepid will sport a new paint scheme in this weeks event. The team felt their last race of the season deserved a fierce and fast look. The bold and aggressive flames echo the teams feelings going into this race and the 2007 season. Brandon and Tiffany welcomed a baby girl, Aleah Ash, into the world on October 29th. Ash on Phoenix…"This will be the all around best effort of our career as a team. The support from our sponsor Sprinter Trucking has once again allowed us to purchase superior and more of the equipment we need to make a better showing each time we hit the track. This weekend we'll have the whole package. As a team we're leaps and bounds above where we were at the beginning of the year. Now that we have the equipment we need, we've begun to focus on what it will take to make the car faster."(Ash Racing Team PR), see an image of the car on my #02 Team Schemes page.(11-10-2006)
- Brandon Ash and Team Acheiving Goals: In what was seemingly turning into an Achilles Heel for Brandon Ash, became
another achievement in the long list of goals for the Ash Racing Team. Ash qualified the #02 Sprinter Trucking Dodge Friday for the Dodge/Save Mart 350. After several attempts and one previous qualification at Sonoma, Ash once again makes the show casting a shadow over what was previously his personal nemesis. Each time Ash goes to Sonoma he is reminded of his run in what was the
Winston West Series, now the Grand National Series, when he was running in the first position looking to win only to come in second to Kevin Harvick after running out of gas so close to taking the checkered flag. Ash will start 43rd in today's race but hopes to make gains and finish strong. In Happy Hour practice yesterday, the #02 Dodge was running 17th fastest with a speed of 91.600 and a lap time of 78.210. Ash may be starting at the back of the field for today's race but he is still going to do his best to move up in the field. His main goal is to stay out of trouble and gain respect from fellow Nextel Cup drivers. Since qualifying for the Subway 500 in Phoenix back in April and the Dodge/Save Mart 350 this weekend, the Ash Racing Team hopes to ride this wave of progress and continue to grow as a team; possibly adding races in the future. Tentatively the next race on the schedule for the Ash Racing Team is Richmond in the fall.(Ash Racing Team PR)(6-25-2006)
- Ash to make more attempts: #02-Brandon Ash, who attempted to make the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway but missed, plans to attempt races in the #02 2004 Dodge Intrepid at Phoenix (both), then Richmond (both), Dover (both), Infineon Raceway, Chicago, Watkins Glenn, California, Kansas and Martinsville (Oct).(brandonashracing.com)(3-12-2006)
