  • Some Qualifying Notes: #14-Larry Foyt is running a purple instead of the yellow colors this week. The #83-Kerry Earnhardt car is being leased from Andy Petree Racing and Petree is in the garage helping out a bit with the team. #11-Brett Bodine lost an engine in Friday's practice and was excused from his qualifying position and will go out when the car is ready, #43-Andretti had some electrical problems and also was excused form his spot in the order and will qualify when he is ready. #30-Green possibly laid down some sort of fluid, #32-Craven went out after Green and brought it in and NASCAR said he will not be able to go back out to qualify. Looks like the #83-Earnhardt and #75-Starr cars will go home as they are the slowest cars.(3-28-2003)

  • Friday Practice is over at Texas: #01-Jerry Nadeau was the fastest at 193.757 followed by #12-Ryan Newman at 193.375 and #48-Jimmie Johnson at 192.754. Slowest were #75-David Starr at 184.212 and #83-Kerry Earnhardt at 185.401 (both need to make the race on speed as they have no owners points to use a provisional). #20-Tony Stewart, in a backup since his primary was configated by NASCAR ran 32nd fastest at 189-500 (see story below)
